Hi there, I have bought a custom fzr with a single sided swingarm, I believe it is from the sprint 1050. Anyway, I know they usually come with the C spanner for adjusting the chain. Do I need to buy one of these or is it just a tool to make life easier?

If you have one of these, what is the quickest way for chain adjustments?

If you dont mind messing it up and dont care about torque settings, bash it with a hammer and screwdriver.

if you do care and want bike to handle properly, get one

Quickest and easiest way to adjust the chain on the Triumph rear ends is with the spanner.

I suppose you could get in there with a screw driver and hammer and be successful, but sooner (rather than later) you are going so screw up the ring that the spanner fits on and you won't be able to adjust the chain anymore.

Buy the tool. They aren't that expensive.

I ground down the tip of a hole punch and GENTLY tapped it counter-clock-wise to tighten the chain. Then I bought the damn spanner.
