The title has a misprint of some kind.

Have the seller get it fixed before you buy the cycle.

You don't want someone else's DMV hassle.

It's most likely an FXD, the one in my pic is an FXD35.

I believe the model you are buying is an FXDX. The FX designation is for the Super Glide line or style that began in the early 70's. There was the FXE which was the first Super Glide and then the FXFB Super Glide Fat Bob came later. The D stands for the Dyna Glide frame/style. I can't honestly tell you what the last X stands for. It's possible the DMV has shortened FXDX to FDX just for streamlining purposes. Great bike I want one. Have fun, be careful

There is a possibility that the people at the DMV mis-printed the model on the title. The people at the DMV usually have no clue what a motorcycle is, so sometimes they will flip the letters around. More than likely it is an FXD model, they just fudged some of the letters around. I have seen this happen before.

There is one occasion where I had to get the DMV to fix my title because the lady read my mileage in KILOMETERS on my car, instead of MILES and printed it on the title that way.

Harley has not made a model FDX. I could be a typo and is supposed to be a FXD (a Dyna model).

There's no FDX model.

There's an FXD which is the base Dyna Glide.

it was either FXD, which is the base dyna superglide, as was stated above, or if its a little older, maybe a FXDX, which is a dyna superglide sport, with is like the superglide, but blacked out, mid controls, etc. FDX does not exist.

You could take the hand written note and your friend to an attorney make sure it all looks ok, as far as amount owed , and monthly payments how much and when payments are to be made. Then have it notorized. At least that way you have something in case your friend sells the bike or decides not to pay. You may have to pay the attorney a little something but at least you will have something in writing.

Why are you buying a Harley for?

that's a big mistake, its going to break down, the dealer will refuse to repair it under warranty and you'll be mad and regret you bought it.

Go and look at the Yamaha Star line of bikes, they are so much better!
