Is the regulator / rectifier on a 91 Evo big twin the same electrically as on the 91 Sportster?

Is the only difference the wire length and stator plug ?
I'd like to cut and splice in a regulator / rectifier from the FXR for use on the Sportster.

You already have my answer but the idea that the engine size has anything to do with the voltage reg/rec is rediculas. It will work fine

If its the same CC you should be fine. That doesnt always matter my ignition pickups came from a 600 and i have a 400. With a rectifier tho i would want one from a bike with the same CC, I wouldnt even be too worried about the make

All rectifier / regulators from any motorbike artwork the same, merely diverse connectors. motorcycles with a bigger electric output tend to have greater stable r/r ... a MOSFET based regulator could final longer, those could be stumbled on on greater cutting-edge motorcycles, yet you have a 1991 one already so "run what you brung"
