even though cubs have 100+cc engine it looks very thin like bicycles. Why would they buy that instead of getting motorcycles at the same price, which look way better than cubs?

It is indeed a logical question. However if you have lived in any asian city, you will realize only too soon that it is the horrible traffic, lack of parking space, unbelievably low average speeds and to top it off, poor purchasing power due to much lower than average incomes. When you put all the bits and pieces together, you will realize that it is actually a very sensible choice given the circumstances.

So the cub bikes are a safe bet with their easy handling, fuel efficiency, proven heritage.

Hmmm. Because they are cheaper to buy and cheaper to run. Clue Homer Simpson. Doh!

Even if a "motorcycle" (sic) was cheaper, which I don't believe they are, family members with skirts can step across and ride whereas getting on a bike with a "traditional" tank could be, how shall we say?, unlady-like?

Add to that the convenience of being able to balance goods between ones legs, hang shopping on a hook in front of the rider, stand small children in front of the rider... the list goes on.

For anything up to say 125cc Underbones, as they are also known, rule.

Then there are the 110cc CVT underbones that have largely taken over from the classic Honda Cub style .

(most) Asian people consider them merely a means of getting from point A to point B, and smaller=cheaper.

Most Asians have learned to keep waste to a minimum.

That's why most Asians have more money in the bank than us NON-Asians......
