I always have impression that a motorbike is faster than a car, even though cars have bigger engine.

Most motorcycles have a higher horsepower to weight ratio than cars and will out accelerate a car. However a car will outrun a bike on a handling course. Car and Driver proved this years ago using drivers proficient on both motorcycles and in cars..

Depends on the top speeds of the car and the bike really, doesn't it. There are so many different categories of racing cars, so many different categories of racing motorcycles, that you are ultimately comparing apples and oranges.

The bike has a definite power to weight advantage over the car, but the car can carry an engine of a capacity a lot larger than a bike could get away with. All that aside current Land Speed record of motorcycle: 605km/h. Current Land Speed record of car: 707km/h. I deliberately excluded jet engine propelled vehicles, as they have more in common with an aircraft that refuses to take off than an internal combustion powered, wheel driven vehicle in my opinion.

So in conclusion, I guess there is no substitute for cubic inches lol

A normal motorcycle can usually accelerate faster, but it loses a bit on top speed, because, like another answer said, a car for top speed has a different dynamic with the air, because there's a down force that gives it traction. But, that might change. The Tesla car can accelerate from 0 to 70 in 3 seconds on flat terrain. It also is a much safer, higher top speed.

Will all depend on what bike and what car. For instance, a Suzuki Hyabusa will beat a ford fiesta in every test going. However, a Suzuki VStrom 650 is unlikely to out accelerate or beat the top speed of a Bugatti Veyron

Since they weigh nothing yes, most good high performance motorcycles can obliterate any fast exotic car. With speeds easily in excess of 200mph. Thus bikes are a lot less common and not safe at all. Especially if a car just bumps you even going like 50mph you're pretty much dead.

both car and motorcyle are now regulated to a top speed of 186mph. By Law. But, airplanes are still unregulated and just happen to already beat both hands down in top speed. You can buy a cheap ticket on TWA and be going over 500 mph in no time.

Depends on the motorcycle and the car and the race you are trying to do.

Motorcycles are generally faster at acceleration and braking. Cars are generally faster at cornering.

A Car that can go 180mph can go faster than a GSXR600, though the GSXR600 may beat that car to 100mph.

A Pontiac Aztec isn't faster than any running motorcycle in any contest.

There are some cars that will beat motorcycles and visa versa.

Most sport bikes will out accelerate even a supercar up to 100moh at least

A "fast" motorcycle will almost always beat a "fast" car in acceleration. A "fast" car will a almost always beat a "fast" motorcycle when it comes to handling. Top speed is impossible to predict. Like other people mentioned though, it really depends on the motorcycle, the car, and the skill of the operators.

Depends on the Makes, & Models; Many large motorcycles now have a top speed well over 150 MPH !

Actually if both have their own racing road i mean bike use separate road and car uses then defiantly car can beat easily because while both are at the common and public road bike cover less space and car need much space as compare to bike then bike just take that advantage and move forward..

Yes.. It's speed limit is same as of a Car,, But friction area is less.. So, It can easily beat a car in Race

its a variable answer. cars and bikes generally or those designed to break records? at moment fastest is the land speed records held by a 'car' ( almost a jet plane in reality) . bikes can be made to match or exceed this speed but in reality both are subject to power availability. at high speeds bikes are more subject to imbalance with only two wheels but with a lesser cross section ought to match or exceed a same size car powered at same rate e.g. 500bhp each. or 900bhp etc due to both lighter weight of bike to a car and less air resistance.

so in reality bikes out to be fastest at high speed. certainly with weight to power ratios standard bikes easily outpace cars on average.

The first few years of the Long beach grand Prix they had a motorcycle event the bikes were way faster in acceleration and top speed their lap times were a bit slower. Just can't compete with a formula one with four huge tires in corners the contact patch with the ground is just not equal

that is very vague....

A sports bike will always be faster than a little 1lt shopping trolley

But a sports car will always be faster than a little 250cc "toy" bike.

Its all relative.

Wheelbase and lane splitting ability differences mean that in the real world bikes are faster on the interstate where real travel is done. Thus bikes are faster in the real world, but cars are more comfortable and safer.

Yes more than often motorcycles can beat even what are considered fast cars I won't go into more situations.

Your question is a bit vague .. I think the world speed records for Both are similar .. it depends on the motorbike and the car.

It should, since a bike is most often smaller, thus less air resistance than a car.
