most manuals refer to 106 links for 80's sportys. this will also depend on the size of sprokets (21/48 is normal) and any mods to swingarm. this may not include the hugger model.

not sure the leanth but all you have to do is take a string and wrap it around the outside of the chain then take the string and meausure it. often this will give you a measurment that is actually two links longer than you need. At least thats how I have always figured out the leanth of chain I needed. I have been working on and building bikes for 30 years.
