MOTORCYCLE PRO'S...HELP PLEASE!!!!?
I HAVE A 1982 YAMAHA VIRAGO 750,YESTERDAY I BOUGHT NEW SPARK PLUGS AND WHEN I TOOK THE OLD ONES OUT I NOTICED ONE WAS "WETTER" THAN THE OTHER AND REALLY BLACK WHERE AS THE OTHER WAS "CLEANER",I PUT THE NEW ONES IN AND I WANTED TO CHECK THEM SO I PULLED THE WIRE OFF OF THE "WETTER" ONE FIRST AND THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN IDOL, I THEN PULLED THE OTHER OFF AND THE BIKE DIED IMMEDIATELY, BOTH PLUGS DO HAVE SPARK BUT THE "WETTER" ONE DOESNT SEEM TO KEEP THE BIKE RUNNING....CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, ANY ADVISE IS WELCOME!!!!

Additional Details
THE REAR PLUG (the one towards the rear of bike) IS DRY,THE FRONT IS THE WET ONE.

wet plug means its not firing 100% just gap the new plugs, install them an go for a 5 minute ride to burn out the fuel in the cyliner that wasn't firing good. be sure to gap it correctly too and see if their plug wire is connected well, not broekn or cracked causing a misfire/ground, also it wouldn't hurt to drin the carb screw on the float bowl and drain out any crud/water accumulated in it.

Remove the front plug. With the ignition wire attached to it ground the plug to the cylinder using a bit of bailing wire or what have you. Do not hold the plug by hand. The idea is to have the plug grounded in such a fashion that you can observe the spark gap. Turn the ignition on and crank the starter while observing the plug gap. If you do not have spark at the gap whilst operating the starter your problem is electrical. If you do have a spark the problem is mechanical and a compression test will be the next of several steps. Perform the test and post back with the results leaving the caps lock off on your keyboard. In addition "Idol" is a show on TV, idle is what a motorcycle engine does.
