in california, is a motorcycle license an endorsement to your drivers license or can you get a motorcycle license without a class C drivers license. I have a class C drivers license but im just curious about how the whole M1 license stuff works. Thanks.

You need to have a Class C license to start with, than a MC endorsement is put on your C license

In California you need a M1 license or endorsement for a two-wheel motorcycle.

In California you only need a C license for a three-wheel motorcycle -- tricycles and sidecars. (This is why the Governor was got away with out his M1 when he crashed.)

The two wheel Piaggio MP3 leans, functionally has two wheels, and needs your M1.

No, you ought to take the motorcycle direction first. then you definately pass the direction and the DMV will upload letter "M" on yet another motive force license! i do no longer understand approximately California, yet I knew in Kansas... if police stop with the help of you and consider on your motive force license and see no M on it at the same time as you experience on the motorcycle, you will get a value ticket and superb $one thousand!
